Keerthy Suresh brought Tamil cinema to the international spotlight as her latest film Dorothyhad its world premiere at the 2026 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). The National Award-winning actor attended the prestigious festival alongside director Karthik Subbaraj, co-stars Sananth and Rishikanth, and producers Guneet Monga Kapoor and Achin Jain.

Keerthy Suresh brings Dorothy to TIFF

The premiere marked an important moment for the Tamil film, which was showcased to an international audience at one of the world’s major film festivals. Dorothyalso received a standing ovation following its screening, adding to the excitement around the film and its TIFF debut.

Keerthy’s appearance at TIFF comes as Dorothytakes its story beyond the Indian film circuit. The actor, known for moving between commercial entertainers and performance-driven roles, was part of the film’s team representing the Tamil production at its international premiere.

Her presence alongside Karthik Subbaraj and the rest of the cast and producers made the red carpet an extension of the film’s global showcase. The standing ovation following the screening further marked a memorable outing for the team.

While details about the film’s wider release remain awaited, its selection for TIFF gives Dorothyan opportunity to be seen by audiences and industry professionals from across the world.

Keerthy Suresh celebrates South Indian roots

For the red carpet, Keerthy Suresh chose to reflect her South Indian roots through her fashion. Styled by Ami Patel, the actor wore a contemporary ensemble by Karan Torani that drew inspiration from the traditional Kanjivaram saree.

The outfit featured a structured muted-gold cropped blouse with a voluminous burgundy skirt, finished with a broad antique-gold border and subtle green detailing. A matching brocade-inspired dupatta, decorated with gold motifs, completed the look.

She paired the outfit with layered gold jewellery from Kerala, including statement earrings and a necklace featuring a dark teardrop pendant. The traditional jewellery complemented the modern silhouette without taking attention away from the overall ensemble.

For Keerthy, the TIFF outing thus brought together two significant elements, the international premiere of Dorothyand a fashion choice rooted in Indian heritage. As the film earned a warm response at its first screening, the actor’s appearance added another distinctly Indian touch to its global debut.
