Frankie Valli is stepping away from the spotlight at age 92.
His brother Bobby Valli took to Facebook on Aug. 12 and announced that the “living legend” had officially retired from performing after six decades.
“My brother Frankie, whom I am so proud of and love him dearly,” Bobby started the social media post, which was written in all capital letters. “He has had a wonderful life, a dream come true. He is an incredible singer. Has had a magnificent career in music.”
Bobby — who is 15 years younger than his brother — posted a picture of himself alongside Frankie, which he noted had been taken last year.
“He has millions of fans who love him dearly. He is not 92 years old. In his illustrious career, he has sold over 100 million records, R&R Hall of Fame,” Bobby continued. “He will now retire. We will always have special memories of Frankie Valli. He has reached a place in his life where his family is there to love, cherish and to be there for him.”
The statement concluded, “We appreciate your love and concern.”

Frankie’s retirement announcement comes months after the singer canceled his remaining 2026 tour dates.
“I’m so sorry to disappoint the folks who have purchased tickets to my shows,” the Four Seasons singer said in a May social media statement. “But I have decided to take the rest of the year off from touring to focus on my health. I’m looking forward to getting healthy and seeing you all again soon. Thank you for all your good wishes.”
A rep for the singer told Varietyat the time that Frankie “realized he needed to take a break and get his health in order, and that is the true issue.” She noted, at the time, that he was considering a return to the stage in 2027.
Frankie, who had been making music his whole life, fronted the Four Seasons starting in 1960. The original group split up around 1977, with Frankie and Bob Gaudio reuniting in 1980 with new members. Frankie has continued to tour over the years under the name Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons.
The musical Jersey Boys opened on Broadway in 2005 and tells the story of the Four Seasons through Frankie’s point of view along with Gaudio’s, Nick Massi’s, and Tommy DeVito’s. Clint Eastwood directed a film version of the musical, released in 2014.
“One of the things I learned really quickly was that it was really important if they’re going to do a story on your life in movie or book form, that at least 98 percent of it had to be the real truth,” Frankie said in a 2019 interview. “And I think that had an awful lot to do with the fact that Jersey Boys was the success that it was.”
