It’s shaping up to be a brilliant week for Fortnite, both for the fans and developer Epic Games.

The gaming-centric Chapter 7 Season 4: Override is now underway after kicking off yesterday, on Thursday, August 20.

Fortnite’s battle royale mode reportedly peaked at over 1,140,000 live players with over 3,500,000 players across all modes.

That certainly makes Override a smash hit season already, with plenty of gaming collabs yet to drop, including those with Cyberpunk: Edgerunners, Kingdom Hearts, and Persona.

There’s plenty to look forward to beyond Override, though, and we’re not talking about Chapter 8, which’ll undoubtedly debut in line with December’s The Game Awards.

Epic Games is preparing to launch Sprite Garden, a brand-new game mode built around the increasingly popular sprites that are becoming a new mainstay for Fortnite.

Sprites somewhat pick up where augments left off, with augments having been absent from the game for quite some time.

Holding a sprite grants you a unique buff or ability, plus you can extract them in the battle royale mode for sprite dust which, in turn, can be spent on weapon and XP upgrades.

The upcoming Sprite Garden, however, transports these helpful little creatures into a cozier environment.

A first look at Fortnite’s Sprite Garden has leaked after being datamined

Official details on Sprite Garden are thin on the ground, but as per a new leak, it looks to be a crafting simulation mode that lets you simply chill out with all the pals you’ve collected.

Dataminer unrealhybrid was able to datamine both a first look at Sprite Garden and some additional intel.

“This is a special place where you and your Sprites can build homes, rest, and play. You’ve fought through many battles; now it’s time to relax,” read a datamined description.

It sounds almost like Pokémon Pokopia or even Palworld (without the guns). You can take a look at what the mode’s location will look like below.

Sprite Garden appears to feature four different islands surrounding a central monument of some kind.

In fact, that monument appears to be called a Sprite Shrine and building it is one of the player objectives with a destroyed version originally present.

Unrealhybrid was also able to unearth the following player objectives: “Build a Sprite Home in an available Building Site,” “Upgrade your Sprite Home, Step on the building pad,” and “This home feels a little empty, let’s add some furniture to it so your Sprite will feel more comfortable!”

You can likely see where we’re seeing a link to Pokémon Pokopia.

Possible found player builds include a bathhouse, sanctuary, bridge, dojo, greenhouse, house, spa, spotlight, street market, tea house, arena, pen and more.

NPC Jade will supposedly inhabit the Sprite Garden and will act as your guide with “mountain”, “cave”, and “beach” teased as some potential biome variants.

All in all, Sprite Garden looks like a potential cozy hit that, quite honestly, we never thought we’d see within Fortnite.

Epic Games previously confirmed that all collected sprites, including those from the Runners season, will automatically load into the mode.

As for when it’ll be released, well, we don’t know, but clearly the vast majority of the required files are already within Fortnite’s current build so sooner rather than later feels a sensible guess.

In fact, some insiders believe it could land within the next few days following Override’s debut, so keep an eye out.
