Fortnite fans are horny on main, with vocal backlash over the return of a fan-favourite manga to Epic Games’ battle royale favourite. While we know the worlds of anime and manga have long become known for their sometimes risque character designs of washboard abs, caked-up backsides, and buxom bosoms, remembering that Fortnite is fundamentally supposed to be a game aimed at kids, the developer has faced a tough job balancing the various fandoms.
It’s par for the course that every time some scantily-clad character is added to the game, an angry minority takes issue with their look. We understand that fans are precious about their favourite franchises, and while we all had a bit of a laugh that Wario’s ample butt was nerfed for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, some Fortnite players take things a lot more seriously.
Fortnite accused of nerfing Bleach’sYoruichi Shihouin
Controversy about Fortnite ‘nerfing’ female skins is nothing new, as back in 2024, Chapter 5: Season 2’s “Myths & Mortals” was called out amid accusations that its final Aphrodite design looked a little more reserved than her concept art.
More recently, Fortnite was accused of taking a leaf out of Marvel Rivals‘ Seaside Sentinel skin when it unveiled the ‘Hot Bat Summer’ lineup and stripped the likes of Catwoman, Harley Quinn, and Poison Ivy down to their unmentionables.
To be fair to Fortnite, Batman also wasn’t wearing a lot as the title was branded a ‘gooner game’
Jump forward to August 2026, and as Bleach‘s Yoruichi Shihouin seems to have gone in the other direction, her Fortnite skin is in the firing line.
December 2025 saw the Wave 1 release of skins from the Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War, with Wave 2 now bringing Kisuke Urahara and Yoruichi Shihouin to the party.
Some have a problem with Yoruichi’s design, suggesting she should be showing off her ‘assets’. Away from official artwork of the shapeshifting werecat, there’s plenty of NSFW fan drawings of Yoruichi out there, so we’ll let your imagination do the rest.
She might be known for her ‘curvaceous’ frame in the anime and manga, but after Fortnite took a more SFW route, there’s been an immediate backlash.
Decrying Yoruichi’s tame look, one angry gamer wrote: “They nerfed her ass, so I’ll pass. If they were going to censor the outfit, why bother putting it in the game in the first place?”
Another wrote: “We literally just got the DC bikini skins that were a million times more revealing, what rock eaters at Epic decided to cover her ass for no reason?”
Not everyone saw a problem, as a third concluded: “Everyone saying they nerfed her acts like this isn’t a kids’ game 😭 They were never gonna have her walking around half uncovered.”
With Chapter 7 Season 4 just around the corner and set to bring a whole host of gaming legends to the title, expect more of the same, as we imagine players would be furious that a mythical Ada Wong skin isn’t sultry enough or Soulcalibur’s Sophitia isn’t showing enough flesh.
Given the backlash there was to Aloy apparently having too much of a hairy face in the Horizon games, despite living in an apocalyptic world, nothing really shocks us anymore.
How to get Fortnite’s Bleach skins?
The Kisuke and Yoruichi skins were obviously leaked ahead of time by dataminers, but with the latest Bleach crossover going live today (August 7), you can try them out for yourselves.
For those who aren’t fussed about how much skin Yoruichi is or isn’t showing, she’s jumping off the Battle Bus and straight into the shop. Like the standard these days is for collab skins to range between 1,500 and 1,800 V-Bucks each, check your bank balance to make sure you’ve got enough to nab her.
We’re also expecting a potential return of the Wave 1 skins, meaning Uryu Ishida, Ichigo Kurosaki, Rukia Kuchiki, and Orihime Inoue could be up for grabs if you missed them the first time around.
Like with Wave 1, we’re likely to see Kisuke and Yoruichi get bundled together for a discount price, so Bleach fans are eating well tonight.
