The FNCS 2026 Global Championship, the biggest Fortnite Battle Royale tournament of the season, has concluded in Belgium. It peaked at more than 1 million concurrent viewers, making it the most popular event in the series’ history and the most popular Fortnite tournament in the past seven years.
The FNCS 2026 Global Championship used a different format from last year’s event: 50 duos from seven regions competed for the title, up from 33 trios. The champions were determined by their total points across 12 matches.

FNCS 2026 Global Championship broadcasts generated more than 5.6 million Hours Watched, down 23.6% from the 2025 championship. Average Viewers fell by 11.5% year over year, while Peak Viewers rose by 6.3%.
English was the leading broadcast language at the FNCS 2026 Global Championship, accounting for more than 53.3% of the tournament’s total Hours Watched. French and Spanish rounded out the top three, each contributing 9%.
The platform breakdown changed a little. Twitch remained the series’ main streaming platform, generating around 66.2% of total Hours Watched. YouTube accounted for 27.6%, with Kick and TikTok Live sharing the remainder.

The tournament’s average viewership declined substantially year over year. One reason was the drop in unique broadcast channels, from 770 to 253, a 3-fold decrease. French-language viewership also fell sharply. Last year’s event took place in France and drew coverage from major French community casters. Corentin “Gotaga” Houssein topped the list of most-popular channels at FNCS 2025, but did not cover the 2026 matches.
Interestingly, Fortnite’s official Twitch and YouTube channels largely maintained their viewership from last year. This suggests that the decline in community casting was the main factor behind the FNCS 2026 Global Championship’s lower overall viewership.
Most popular Fortnite events by Peak Viewers
The FNCS 2026 Global Championship recorded the highest peak viewership in the series. It also ranked third among all Fortnite events in the game’s history. The Fortnite World Cup 2019 Finals remains the leader, having peaked at more than 2.3 million viewers.

SwizzY effectively defended his title: he was part of the trio that won the FNCS 2025 Global Championship. Pixie’s team finished second at last year’s event. The two formed a duo in late 2025 and began competing together in official matches.
