The Energon Universe goes deeper into the Hasbro archives with the return of Rom, Space Knight in Void Rivals #36from Skybound/Image.

Rom made his stealth debut in the Skybound universe as a surprise in M.A.S.K. #1 blind bags. Rom #1 was later made available to all as Rom Special #1.

But now he’s helping wrap up the PROXIMUS vs. SOLILA family feud in a story by Robert Kirkman (Invincible, The Walking Dead), artist Conor Hughes (White Ash), colorist Patricio Delpeche (Catwoman), and letterer Rus Wooton (Fire Power) that wraps up an entire arc.

Brother and sister reunited, but the reunion is not without conflict! That’s right, it’s PROXIMUS vs. SOLILA as we learn more about their tragic childhood in Zertonia.

Void Rivals #36will feature a main cover by co-creator Lorenzo De Felici, along with a lineup of variant covers including open-to-order covers by Conor Hughes, Oliver Ono, a 1:25 incentive variant by Miquel Muerto, and a 1:50 incentive variant by Balám.

Void Rivals is a tentpole of the Energon Universe, the crown jewel of the historic collaboration between Hasbro and Skybound, who has introduced a brand-new era of the TRANSFORMERS and G.I. JOE franchises in one shared comic book universe. Other Energon Universe ongoing series include the two-time Eisner Award winning Transformersby writer Robert Kirkman, artist Jason Howard (The Astounding Wolf-Man), and colorist Mike Spicer (Stillwater, Murder Falcon), G.I. Joeby writer Joshua Williamson (Superman, Dark Ride), artist Tom Reilly (Ant-Man), and colorist Lee Loughridge (Universal Monsters: The Mummy), and M.A.S.K.by writer Dan Watters (Nightwing), artist Pye Parr (Petrol Head), and Pierluigi Casolino (DC vs. Vampires). Fans should expect can’t-miss moments from every issue of the Energon Universe, as secrets are unveiled along the path to answering the BIG questions from some of the biggest franchises in comics today.

Void Rivals #36will be available at comic book shops and digital platforms including Amazon Kindle, Apple Books, and Google Play on Wednesday, November 25, 2026.

Skybound has provided a cover reveal and a peak at the interiors, seen below.
