Family Day at Nebraska State Fair features craft and vendor show

Neb. (KSNB) – Families gathered for shopping at the Nebraska State Fair’s annual craft and vendor show as part of Family Day. Businesses from across the Midwest and beyond gathered at the BigIron Events Center to sell a variety of merchandise to fairgoers. Vendors sold food products, clothing and action figures

One vendor that drew attention was a golf simulator from Cross Swing Golf, a company out of Aurora. The company sells trailer-sized simulators designed for golfers who do not always have the ability to leave home.

Grayce Smith, owner of Cross Swing Golf, said the simulator can help golfers in several ways.

“You can play courses, we have dozens and dozens of courses you can play, or if you want to rent it out individually, you can hit all of your golf clubs and you can get an average for each club, how far it goes, the ball spin, things like that,” Smith said.

Another vendor, the Super Patch Company, uses a drug-free patch intended to help with pain relief, sleep, energy and balance. Sellers said they hope people who buy their product come away with a sense of hope.

Angie Rose, an independent vendor for Super Patch, said the company hopes for a lasting effect.

“Our goal when we leave is, we want to create that ripple effect, that people are trying it, they’re talking about it and they’re reaching back out and saying, what else can you help me with?” Rose said.

A pie vendor from Iowa sold products from Dave’s Coffee Cake, a family-owned company. Seller Jennette Looper said the crowd has favored a variety of flavors so far.

“I’d say their most popular one is their triple cinnamon, but if you ask which one I like, I like the bavarian cream and I like the raspberry lemon, but the chocolate expresso gives it a run for the money,” Looper said.

The event allows companies to spread the word about their services or products.
