Giorgio Armani biopic announced without fashion house approval
A biopic on late fashion icon Giorgio Armani is in development, with two-time Palme d’Or winner Bille August attached to direct. But the Armani Group has distanced itself from the project, saying it has neither authorised nor supported the film. Titled Armani: The King of Fashion, the film is being produced by Andrea Iervolino and will chronicle the designer’s life and career. In a statement, the Armani Group said it was “entirely unrelated to the project” and dissociated itself from both the filmmakers and its content. Armani, one of the world’s most influential fashion designers, died in Milan last year at the age of 91.
