To celebrate the launch of Echo Weaver, Akupara Games and Moonlight Kids put out a launch trailer. This new time loop Metroidvania game just landed on Nintendo Switch 2.
Everything you need to know can be found in the following overview:
Master an unraveling time loop in this knowledge-based Metroidvania. As the last Weaver, exploit time-altering anomalies and use what you learn to break the cycle.
Explore what remains. Uncover the mystery. Perfect the loop.
Bound to your very being, an alien glaive grants you strange, reality-bending powers. The infinite time loop is the perfect training ground to master them.
Can you decipher its fractured essence? Find clever uses of its power to bypass obstacles? Use past-loop revelations to find hidden shortcuts? Only a Weaver who harnesses the glaive’s power will be able to outsmart a world determined to reset you.
Scrappy survivors populate the loop, opposing those who wish to drown a better future. To carve your path to freedom, you’ll need to understand those trapped alongside you.
A pizza-slinging cat who guides you through the ruins.
A cranky leader who protects refugees after The Collapse.
A wicked cleric evangelizing doom to any who might listen.Only you can dismantle the conspiracy deep at the heart of this world and free those confined to eternal purgatory.
Every power you will ever yield is already at your disposal… you just don’t know it yet. Each new loop offers up more clues; every reset becomes a another opportunity to optimize. Put the pieces together, unlock your potential, and chart the one perfect loop to deliverance. In this unique genre mix perfect for fans of both Outer Wilds and Ori and the Blind Forest, master time itself to shatter the cycle once and for all.
- The Gilded Ruin – You’re the last of the Weavers trying to rebuild paradise. Who are the Congregation and what did they do to collapse their utopia?
- Knowledge is Key – No upgrades, just secrets. In the “metroidbrainia”, progress is defined by what you’ve learned rather than what you’ve unlocked.
- Time is Currency – The loop itself is a consumable resource: grab pickups to extend it, then draw from it to heal, trade, unlock new routes, and more.
- Choreography over Challenge – The loop rewards rhythm and routing over raw reflexes. Memorize the hazards and you’ll find the perfect flow through the ruins.
