“Eating Fast Food While Being Rich Is Absolutely Stupid”: Internet Reacts As Popular Streamer Says Food in America Is “Poison” and “Garbage”

Twitch streamer Vei sparked debate on Reddit after calling American food “poison” and “garbage” and claiming Sodapoppin got hemorrhoids from not eating vegetables.

On October 23, 2026, Twitch VTuber Vei sparked an online debate about American diets during a livestream after calling food and produce in the United States “poison” and “garbage.” During the broadcast, she criticized the quality of American food products and stated that fellow streamer Chance “Sodapoppin” Morris developed hemorrhoids because “he does not eat vegetables.”

Her remarks were clipped and shared to the r/LivestreamFail subreddit under the title “Vei: eat more vegetables or u end up like Sodapoppin.” The post quickly drew pushback from viewers. Many commenters argued that privileged streamers blame the American food system instead of their own reliance on fast-food delivery apps and sedentary routines.

Reddit user u/youarestupidmeatbag criticized streamers for ordering fast food despite their wealth:

“Well, hemorrhoids can be the result of sitting for 12 hours a day, but yeah, eating fast food while being rich is absolutely stupid.”

Other viewers noted that Austin, Texas, offers plenty of fresh grocery and local restaurant options. User u/finecherrypie wrote:

“Everything is poison. Sits at home all day and only eats delivered fast-food. Millionaire could easily take 15mins to find a quality restaurant and/or places with local produce Downtown Austin has endless options.”

In another reply, u/finecherrypie pointed out how easily people can add fiber to their daily meals:

“Didn’t even change my diet just ate one spoon of Chia pudding before eating. Now automatically every meal has basic fiber before I’ve touched a bite.”

u/aslatts suggested that streamers can hire personal chefs for their services:

“Having some sort of personal chef/meal service feels like one of the most obvious‘*rich person’ spends I can think of. It’s not THAT expensive as long as you don’t want like, an actually full time chef you’re employing. If you’re just ordering all your food delivered anyway [you] might as well just pay the extra to just have an actual chef come drop off real meals that will be way better for you and probably better tasting most of the time too.”*

Several commenters also highlighted the physical toll of full-time streaming. Reddit user u/hucklepinch remarked:

“Sitting nearly 24/7 and eating garbage will def do that.”

Some users like u/maddinho emphasized how important fiber intake is:

*”If you drink enough water and eat enough veggies/fiber, you can sit 15 hours a day. [The] only time i got hemorrhoids was when i was eating ****** chicken nuggets for a week and didn’t drink enough. Since then i have been eating more veggies and drinking more water. I would assume for most people this is an eye opening experience…… but i suppose fast food is too addicting or they are too weak.”*

“Soda eats like a 5 year old i bet dude lives on grilled cheese and mcdonalds (doordashed ofc because*** leaving the house am i right?),” said u/ThisAd1371* in response to Vei’s comments about Soda’s diet.

Addressing claims about the high cost of healthy groceries in the United States, user u/Roach27 stated:

“Unhealthy food is more expensive to purchase. If you actually make your food it’s of similar or higher quality compared to the rest of the world and way WAY cheaper.”

Meanwhile, u/Fartstopper9424 stood against those criticizing the VTuber’s comments about American food quality:

“Sigh don’t listen to these idiots.”

Vei Says She’s “Concerned” About Sodapoppin’s Health

During the October 23, 2026, broadcast, Vei stated that she was “concerned” about Sodapoppin’s health and eating habits. While discussing his diet on stream, she explained that his refusal to eat vegetables contributed to him getting hemorrhoids.

In the clip shared on Reddit, Vei spoke candidly about her concern over his diet and health issues:

“I worry about Chance cuz Chance gets like… i mean this is so TMI (too much information) but he says it himself. He gets hemorrhoids and stuff.”

She added that she gets “worried about him having stomach cancer because he doesn’t eat vegetables.”

“He doesn’t eat tomato cucumber onion, doesn’t really eat anything, nothing at all. So I don’t know, I’m scared. I’m concerned.”

Neither Vei nor Sodapoppin has commented on the discussion following the livestream.
