MAN The Over Order, a completely new anime based on Akihito Yoshitomi’s manga EAT-MAN, has officially been announced. This marks the third anime adaptation of the series and its first new anime production since 1998, after a 28 year absence. Masashi Ebara will reprise his role as protagonist Bolt Crank, whom he voiced in the previous anime adaptations, while original creator Akihito Yoshitomi will personally handle the screenplay and original design concepts

EAT-MAN Returns With a Completely New Anime
from 1996 to 2003. The story follows the travels of Bolt Crank, a mysterious adventurer who eats metal and can recreate all manner of weapons.
Never speaking about his past or revealing his true objectives, Bolt travels around the world taking on assignments, encountering numerous incidents and fateful events along the way.

The manga was previously adapted into television anime series in 1997 and 1998. Nearly 30 years after the manga began serialization, its distinctive world and unique protagonist continue to be loved by many fans.

The completely new anime will be produced by Studio Cab. Shunji Oga, known for Golgo 13 and Romance of the Three Kingdoms, will serve as director, while Satoshi Hirayama, known for his work on the Lupin the 3rd series and other titles, will handle character design.
First Footage From EAT-MAN The Over Order Revealed
The newly released teaser video offers the first look at footage currently in production.
It opens with the message, “To everyone who loves the Heisei era,” before showing Bolt Crank picking up a screw lying in the wilderness and quietly declaring, “Time to work.”
The footage then shows one of the defining elements of EAT-MAN, Bolt eating metal. With the single word “Complete,” an enormous weapon appears.
The video condenses the appeal of the one of a kind protagonist Bolt Crank into a brief glimpse and builds anticipation for the newly launched EAT-MAN The Over Order project.

This time, I was involved starting from the screenplay process, and I freely wrote whatever came to mind as I went along.
Unlike creating manga, producing a story for animation is a collaborative process, so I learned a great deal from the experience.
Next, I would like to try working on storyboards as well, so I plan to study that.
