A major celebration of comics, gaming, collectibles and cosplay is set to return to Dundee next month as Overgate prepares to host a day packed with family-friendly entertainment.
The Dundee Comic & Toy Fair will take place at the city centre shopping centre on Saturday 5 September, running from 10am until 5pm, with free entry for visitors throughout the day.
Following a successful debut last year, the event will once again bring together artists, collectors, traders, comic creators and cosplayers from across Scotland, offering visitors the chance to browse everything from comics and artwork to retro games, trading cards and action figures.
Character meet-and-greets will take place throughout the day, while visitors can also meet local artists and specialist traders. Retro gaming fans can expect displays and merchandise celebrating PlayStation, Nintendo, Xbox and Sega, alongside trading card favourites including Pokémon, Magic: The Gathering, Disney Lorcana, Yu-Gi-Oh!, TOPPS and sports cards.
The Excelsior Cosplay Championship will also return, celebrating Scotland’s growing cosplay community, while organisers have announced the launch of a new venture, Excelsior Comics, which will offer both new releases and back issues from publishers including Marvel and DC.
The event is organised by Scottish company Excelsior Events, which aims to bring together collectors, artists and enthusiasts while supporting local creative talent.
Malcolm Angus, Centre Manager at Overgate, said: “We are delighted to be welcoming the Dundee Comic & Toy Fair back to Overgate on Saturday 5 September. The debut event last year was a huge success, attracting gaming and comic fans from far and wide, as well as many families who loved the colourful character meet-and-greets.
“It is a fantastic day out with appeal for all ages and is free to attend. We look forward to welcoming everyone next month.”
The event takes place throughout Overgate between 10am and 5pm on Saturday 5 September, with admission free for all visitors.
