The Resident is leaving Netflix next month
All six seasons of the medical drama The Resident are set to leave Netflix next month. According to What’s on Netflix, the series will be removed from the streaming platform on November 20, 2026.
The medical drama originally premiered on Fox on January 21, 2018, and concluded on January 17, 2023, after six seasons and 107 episodes. Created by Amy Holden Jones, Hayley Schore, and Roshan Sethi, the series was canceled in April 2023.
Set at Chastain Park Memorial Hospital, the show centers on Dr. Conrad Hawkins, a talented physician known for challenging conventional medical practices. His approach puts him at odds with the expectations of new doctors, including Dr. Devon Pravesh, an idealistic intern who arrives believing that medicine operates according to clear moral principles.
Working alongside Conrad exposes Devon to the competing interests, difficult judgments, and imperfect people that shape the healthcare system. Matt Czuchry portrays Conrad Hawkins, while Emily VanCamp plays nurse practitioner Nicolette “Nic” Nevin. The series’ cast also features Manish Dayal as Devon Pravesh, Shaunette Renée Wilson as Mina Okafor, and Bruce Greenwood as Randolph Bell, among others.
On Rotten Tomatoes, The Resident has an average audience score of 73 percent. Darren Franich of <a href="https://comicvibe.com/penn-entertainment-appoints-gary-hunter-chief-information-security-officer/” title=”PENN Entertainment Appoints Gary Hunter Chief Information Security Officer”>Entertainment Weekly wrote that the series “is really two shows in one,” adding, “There’s that dark, fascinating portrait of the modern hospital. And then there’s the much more standard, dispiritingly regular drama about a cool doctor with eleven o’clock shadow.”
