Ranveer Singh’s Legal Warning to IMPPA:
The legal dispute surrounding Ranveer Singh and Don 3 has taken another turn. The Dhurandhar actor’s legal team has reportedly asked the Indian Motion Picture Producers’ Association(IMPPA) to stay out of the matter, arguing that the dispute should be settled between the actor and the film’s producers or through the courts.

The development comes amid reports of Excel Entertainmentseeking around ₹45 crore in compensation from Ranveer. The production house, headed by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, has reportedly claimed losses following the actor’s decision to leave the project after preparations had begun.
Ranveer’s father, Jagjit Singh Bhavnani, had earlier approached IMPPA and submitted a plea against the compensation claim. The association is examining the documents and arguments presented by both sides.
According to reports, Ranveer’s lawyers have questioned IMPPA’s jurisdiction in the dispute. His team has reportedly maintained that there was no formal agreement between the actor and Excel Entertainment, but a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). They have argued that if the producers believe they have a valid claim, they should approach a court for a legal resolution. The actor’s legal team has also reportedly warned that any decision taken against Ranveer by IMPPA could lead to further legal action.
The Don 3 controversy has been going on for several months and has already involved multiple industry bodies. Earlier, the Federation of Western India Cine Employees(FWICE) withdrew its non-cooperation directive against Ranveer following legal intervention and discussions involving various industry associations.
