Death Note: The Musical will return to the Barbican in London next year. The musical will run from 23 March to 15 May 2027.
The new musical opened at the venue this summer, and completes its run on 12 September. The current lead cast includes Xander Pang as Light, Colin Ryan as L, Stephanie Zaharis as Misa Amane, Telly Leung as Ryuk, Grace Mouat as Rem, Paolo Montalban as Soichiro Yagami, Chloe Saracco as Jerasu, and Elise Buckley as Sayu.

Death Note features music by Tony, Grammy and Emmy Award nominee Frank Wildhorn, lyrics by Tony nominee Jack Murphy, additional lyrics by Morgan Reilly and a book by Emmy nominee Ivan Menchell.
In a review for LondonTheatre.co.uk, our critic said: “The visuals are knockout. Colin Ryan’s L most closely resembles his original manga character, with wide eyes as big as saucers, wild hair, and hunched posture, often crouching. He brings unsettling intensity to L from the very beginning.”
The creative team also includes director Stephen Whitson, choreographer Fabian Aloise, set designer Jon Bausor, musical supervisor, orchestrator and arranger Jason Howland, musical director Katy Richardson, and music producer Billy Jay Stein / Strange Cranium, with additional lyrics by Morgan Reilly.
The team is completed by costumer designer Sachiko Nakahara, lighting designer Jen Schriever, sound designer Peter Hylenski, and video designer Akhila Krishnan, with illusions by Paul Kieve.
