David Beckham follows in the footsteps of other footballers who have featured in Fortnite, including Lionel Messi, Harry Kane and Marco Reus

David Beckham will be available as a playable character on Fortnite.

The likeness of the former England player, 51, will be added to the hit video game along with a series of outfits emulating his signature looks – including a suave black suit and a football kit.

Joining the Fortnite Icon Series, the collaboration was announced in a trailer shared by the game on YouTube which showed the former footballer wearing his signature number seven shirt as he scored a goal with extreme force.

The video showed Beckham’s character watching himself play football whilst wearing his “Club Owner” outfit, which consists of a sharp black suit embellished with a club crest.

An additional outfit style in which his character is shirtless with glowing gold tattoos covering his arms, torso, neck, and hands was also revealed in the trailer.

The tattoos are “reactive” and will glow with every elimination.

Players will be able to emulate the stars’ likeness and also shoot a ball into a goal with his Shot Emote, which imitates his famous free-kick technique – known as “Bend it like Beckham”.

The collaboration also includes tools such as the Meteor Baller Pickaxe, which “gets you the perfect strike” as well as the Number Seven Scythe Pickaxe.

Beckham said: “Fortnite creates new and exciting ways to connect with fans around the world.

“It’s been great working with them to create something that celebrates my career on and off the pitch.”

The London-born star previously teased his Fortnite look and outfit changes, known as skins, in a post to Instagram with a snap of himself helping with his character design.

The post also featured Beckham walking past a mirror whilst on the phone discussing the new collaboration, with his reflection revealing his Fortnite self and his skin.

This is Beckham’s first collaboration with the video game as he follows in the footsteps of other footballers who have featured, including Lionel Messi, Harry Kane and Marco Reus.

The former Manchester United player has previously appeared in video games, most notably across EA’s Fifa football games, having appeared as a playable character across the franchise multiple times.

Beckham is famed for his successful two-decade career in football, which has seen him become the first English player to win league titles in four countries: England, Spain, the United States and France.

He is also married to Spice Girl Victoria Beckham and the couple have four children together – Romeo, Cruz, Harper and their eldest son Brooklyn, with whom they have an ongoing family feud.

Beckham will be joining the Fortnite Icon Series on 18 July at 1am BST.

    Anne Hathaway’s Little-Seen, Short

    By JamesJuly 6, 20260

Acting for a living can take you down some peculiar avenues. Consider Anne Hathaway and Jesse Eisenberg. In the 2010s, they lent their voices to the “Rio” movies as an oil and water pair of blue Spix’s macaws who fall in love. But a decade before becoming animated amorous at-lived dramedy series “Get Real.”
