Earlier this month, the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback took a shot at Patrick, making it clear that he doesn’t like how their relationship has been described in the media.
“I dated Danica. She had just retired. She was depressed and not fun to be around,” Rodgers said on Cam Heyward’s Not Just Footballpodcast. “But I didn’t leave her because I was trying to be there and be a good partner. Then it was going a certain direction, obviously. There was no intimacy; there was nothing.”
Rodgers said that at one point in their relationship, Patrick asked the four-time NFL MVP if he wanted to buy a property in Malibu, California together.
“She said, ‘You know what that means then?’ And I said, ‘Yeah, that’s the way things are going,'” Rodgers recalled.
Patrick previously told Sage Steele that she felt emotionally abused by the longtime NFL star.
“The breakup with Aaron in 2020,” Patrick told Steele of her most painful moment of her life.
“Because it was sudden, it felt like. It was my life. So like when you live with somebody, it’s your whole life,” she continued. “And because the nature of the relationship was emotionally abusive, so that wore me down to nothing.”

Patrick did make some sacrifices for Rodgers, even changing her NFL fandom.
The former NASCAR and IndyCar driver grew up a massive Chicago Bears fan, thanks to her father. However, when she began dating Rodgers, she switched favorite teams.
In 2018, Patrick announced that she had renounced her Bears fandom, admitting that she was “the biggest Packers fan” now.
Patrick and Rodgers are no longer dating – Rodgers is married and Patrick appears to be in a relationship – so it’s likely that the NFL fandom has been switched back.
