The line of scrimmage keeps moving on Dancing With the Stars.
And while each of the celebrity-pro duos has improved from week to week, not every group was able to achieve another first down at the end of the Super Bowl-themed episode Oct. 13.
This week, it was Guillermo Rodriguez and Witney Carson who marked the end of their journey in the ballroom.
While the beloved pair’s salsa to “Tití Me Preguntó” by Bad Bunny was a total touchdown, it ultimately proved not enough to land them at the top of the leaderboard, instead ending the evening in last place with 22 points.
Following the news of their elimination, Guillermo shared an emotional goodbye.
“I want to say thank you to all the audience,” he said. “Thank you to everyone and Dancing With the Stars. Thank you very much. I had a lot of fun. It was great.”
But his biggest thank you was reserved for his partner, who captained their team through over a month of dancing while pregnant with baby No. 3. As the Jimmy Kimmel Live! star put it, “Witney, I love you for teaching me how to dance.”

And she, too, had only the best words to share about Guillermo and how much effort he’s put in week after week.
“Thank you so much for making the season just so fun, so enjoyable,” Witney shared. “He has taken care of me so much throughout this entire season, and little baby. It felt like an empowering season.”
But while week five marked the end of Witney and Guillermo’s game play, it catapulted other couples further into the upper echelons of this season.
Indeed, couples Amber Glenn and Pasha Pashkov, Maura Higgins and Mark Ballas, Ezra Frech and Daniella Karagach, Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson as well as Jenna Dewan and Val Chmerkovskiy once again spun into the top of the leaderboard.
In fact, everybody brought their A-Game. Week five saw judges Bruno Tonioli, Carrie Ann Inaba and Derek Hough award the highest score of the season to Jenna and Val and Ezra and Daniella, who tied in first-place with a score of 36.
But the excitement didn’t end there.
Given this week’s Super Bowl theme, former NFL stars who also took a turn around the ballroom returned to Dancing With the Stars to perform, including Emmitt Smith, Donald Driver, DeMarcus Ware andDanny Amendola.
Plus, Monday Night Football announcer Joe Buck joined the panel of judges to do a play-by-play of the evening’s dances.
And while Guillermo and Witneywill no longer make plays for the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy, there are plenty of couples still looking to bop their way to the top. Read on for a closer look at this season’s cast.

“Looks are not indicative of being in shape,” Ciara exclusively told E! News in June. “I do huff and puff going up the stairs, so I gotta get back into the gym and work on my stamina.”
“I have a vision board and I redo it every year,” she told E! News in May. “This year is the first year that I stayed at home by myself on New Year’s Eve. I did not go out at all. I made myself a bowl of pasta and a glass of red wine and I redid my vision board for the year. Dancing With the Stars was already on it from the year before. However, I added five more Dancing With the Stars on the board.”
