This year’s season of Dana White’s Contender <a href="https://comicvibe.com/well-timed-savings-the-apple-watch-series-11-is-100-off-today/” title=”Well-Timed Savings: The Apple Watch Series 11 Is $100 Off Today”>Seriesofficially kicks off tonight (August 11) as 10 fighters meet at the Meta APEX to try and secure UFC contracts.
Following last weekend’s UFC Vegas 120 card that saw Quillan Salkilld establish himself as a potential future title challengerin the lightweight division, tonight will see a number of top prospects attempt to impress Dana White and take their first steps towards successful careers in the UFC.
The event will also help get fans primed for this Saturday’s UFC 330 event, which features two championship fights and is topped by Islam Makhachev’s first welterweight title defense against Ian Machado Garry.
Top Prospects Fight for UFC Contracts in Las Vegas
The first DWCS fight of 2026 takes place in the middleweight division and will see Jon Kunneman try to extend his undefeated record when he squares off with Joe Kropschot.
Only one of Kunneman’s ten professional opponents have made it past the opening round, while Kropschot is coming off a sizeable upset against David Allakhverdiev to claim the LFA middleweight belt in February.
Things move to the featherweight division for the next fight, as Ananias Mulumba makes his return to DWCS to take on Tom Pagliarulo after the latter fighter won his PFL debut
Week 1 of DWCS also features one of the most highly-touted prospects in all of MMA in Bilal Hasan, who is a perfect 8-0 in his professional career and successfully defended the Cage Fury FC flyweight belt on three different occasions.
Mridul Saikia will attempt to score a major upset when he meets Hasan, and the Indian flyweight has yet to go the distance in his 10-fight MMA career.
The penultimate bout of the night takes place in the lightweight division and features the undefeated Abe Alsaghi taking on Mexico’s Fabrizio Escarrega.
In the card’s featured matchup, former NFL player Anthony Wint puts his 6-0 record on the line against Matt Adams in a heavyweight bout.
All fighters successfully made weight for their respective fight ahead of the event. The action is set to kick off at 7:00 p.m. ET, and fans in the United States can catch the full card on Paramount+.
