Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 is coming sooner than Night City can handle.
Netflix and CD PROJEKT RED have announced that the Studio TRIGGER-produced standalone sequel hits the platform worldwide on Oct. 20, with the confirmation arriving alongside a fresh trailer and seven minutes of footage screened at Anime NYC.
The premiere date reveal came at Netflix’s main-stage panel at the Javits Center on Aug. 21, capping a wide block of anime announcements that included trailers for Blue Eye Samurai season 2 and Sakamoto Days season 2.
A new official Cyberpunk website launched alongside the announcement.
The new trailer is officially the third teaser for the series, weaving in material from earlier teasers while introducing dialogue for the first time, giving a sharper read on the new cast of characters. It closes on a single line of threat: “Night City will burn again.”
The 10-episode series is billed as a standalone chapter sharing Night City’s setting with the first Edgerunnersbut built around an entirely new cast of hired guns. The official synopsis describes Weak as a former legend now barred from chrome, searching for purpose in a world that has outpaced him, while nomad and netrunner D pursues the killer who wiped out his Snake Nation clan, pulling him into buried corpo secrets.
Clancy Brown voices Weak in English; Kentaro Tone takes the Japanese role. D is voiced in English by Nazeeh Tarsha and in Japanese by Koki Uchiyama. Roman Carax is voiced in English by Valeria Rodriguez and in Japanese by Momoka Terasawa. Akari Kito and Kimoy Lee voice Talia Yang, a former corpo kid hardened inside the Maelstrom gang, in Japanese and English, respectively.
