A travelling wizard returns to his home town, to save it from a fire demon and the people who banished him as a child.

Embers is a fantasy graphic novel packed with monsters, magic, and mystery that deserves a spot on readers’ radars. Created by writer and artist Lyndon White, this 144-page graphic novel follows Idris, a wizard forced to return to the town that banished him as a child when a fire demon threatens its survival. Alongside knight Sigrid, he must confront old wounds, earn the trust of a divided community, and discover whether magic will save Wispmire or destroy it. It’s a fantasy fan’s kind of comic, and it makes it clear even in the preview pages on the project. It’s painterly, full-color artwork, and shines in an oversized hardcover edition; it’s definitely worth a look.

Monster School Compact Paperback Editions + Metal Bookmark

Creators: Jessica Maison Judd (Writer/Publisher), Anna Wieszczyk (Illustrator), Matt Krotzer (Letterer/Designer, The Killing Stone), Joel Rodriguez (Letterer/Designer, La Llorona in the Machine*)

    End Date:October 20, 2026

A spooky, award-winning fantasy series where a supernatural Mary Shelley fights to protect misunderstood monsters.

Jessica Maison Judd’sMary Shelley’s School for Monsters is back with compact paperback editions of its first two graphic novels, La Llorona in the Machine and The Killing Stone. The series follows Shel, a supernatural version of Mary Shelley, as she teams up with Frankenstein’s monster, a living book of spells, Medusa and other unlikely allies to rescue monsters from humans who exploit them. With stories featuring Mexican American folklore, Japanese mythology, magic and found family, this series embraces everything that makes supernatural comics so much fun. Anna Wieszczyk’s vibrant, full-color is on full display and brings these strange, wonderful creatures and their adventures to life across more than 270 pages. Right on time for spooky season, its something any horror fan, or monster fan, would love.

Fever Dream : A Cursed Comic Book by Becky Cloonan

     Creator:
Becky Cloonan (Writer/Artist), Kinetic Collectibles (Publisher)
    Goal: $25,000
    End Date: October 29, 2026
Goodies: Softcover editions start at $25, Kickstarter-exclusive signed hardcovers start at $45, and higher tiers include original sketches, limited-edition letterpress prints, sticker and miniprint sets, collector bundles, and a one-of-a-kind $4,000 commission.

A haunting, experimental art book assembled from the abandoned pages of a graphic novel that never was.

Award-winning cartoonist Becky Cloonan invites readers into the beautifully chaotic world of Fever Dream, a 120-page collection that blurs the line between an art book and a graphic novel. Built from sketches, illustrations and sequential pages from a project she abandoned halfway through, the book brings to life the messy, unpredictable process of creating art. Rather than leaving those discarded pages behind, Cloonan has reworked them into a haunting visual where a story seems to emerge from the fragments without ever fully revealing itself. It’s incredible, and it feels like something that would come from Cloonan’s mind. If the preview pages aren’t enough, please check out what else the project has to offer; you won’t regret it.

    White Ash Vol 1 & 2

    Creators: Charlie Stickney
(Writer),Conor Hughes (Artist),Fin Cramb (Colorist), White Ash Comics (Publisher)
    Goal: $28,000
    End Date: November 4, 2026
Goodies: Digital editions start at $25, the Volume 1 Master Edition hardcover starts at $35, and the Volume 2 Master Edition hardcover starts at $50. Bundles include both volumes, slipcases, signed and numbered bookplates, limited-edition sketch plates, and other hardcovers from the White Ash universe.

What if a small Pennsylvania mining town hid an ancient fantasy war, and the guy trying to leave it discovered he was part of the secret?

There’s a reason White Ash has been mentioned on the round-up before. The series takes deeply structured fantasy stories and puts them in an otherwise ordinary place and reveals that there’s a whole other world hiding just beneath the surface. That’s the hook behind White Ash, Charlie Stickney and Conor Hughes’ creator-owned series, which turns a small Western Pennsylvania mining community into the setting for a sprawling fantasy romance involving dwarves, elves and an approaching war against dragon-human hybrids. The story begins with Aleck, a coal miner’s son desperate to leave town for college, whose plans change after an accident at the mine leads him to Lillian Alden. Their growing relationship pulls him into secrets that reshape everything he thought he knew about his family and hometown.

That’s where this run comes in. As a creator-owned series, Its been hard to get a hold of these apart from when they have it on their website. Now, this Kickstarter collects the series’ first two story arcs in oversized, luxury hardcover editions, with the second volume packing more than 400 pages into a remastered collection. The books feature foil stamping, new lettering, pin-ups, and a choice of dust jackets, with optional slipcases for collectors who want the complete shelf-worthy set. New readers can start with Volume One, while longtime fans can revisit the story with new material and an all-new digital prequel. With nearly 800 pages of White Ash stories already published, this is a great opportunity to dive into a brand new fantasy universe–make sure to check it out!
