Comic Shops Have To Agree To Keep Absolute Batman Day 2026 Secrets

Comic book shops have to agree to keep the Absolute Batman Day 2026 secrets if they want to take part

    Article Summary

    • Batman Day 2026 lands on September 19, with comic shops needing to opt in by September 2 to access exclusive DC releases.
    • Retailers must keep Batman Day 2026 books secret, with no early sales, previews, spoilers, livestreams, or reviews allowed.
    • DC warns shops that breaking Batman Day street date rules could mean losing future access to Batman Day and other promos.
    • Batman of Two Worlds #1 headlines Batman Day 2026, pairing new Batman and Absolute Batman stories in one global event.

DC Comics is launching its Batman Day on the 19th of September 2026, and registration is now open for comic book retailers to become participating stores. The only way to register for Batman Day 2026 and to receive the exclusive titles, including the Absolute Batman/Batman semi-crossover ahead of the event, is to opt in by Tuesday, the 2nd September 2026. And that includes an agreement to hold all Batman Day 2026 exclusive releases off sale until Saturday, 19th September 2026. Participating retailers must also agree not to post, distribute, preview, livestream, review, or otherwise share interior pages, story content, plot details, spoilers, or other material online or with customers prior to the official release date.

Those who agree will get Batman Day titles and materials for the week before Batman Day. Those who don’t agree will still get Batman Day materials… just on Batman Day or the week after, depending on territory.

And any retailer found selling, pre-selling, displaying, distributing, previewing, livestreaming, reviewing, or posting content ahead of the official street date may be excluded from future DC promotional programs, including Batman Day, Superman Day, Free Comic Book Day, bundle promotions, and other future opportunities.

Will that stop them? No. Reddit will be full of scans, as will my inbox, I am sure. Will I run them? Well… usually, if it’s newsworthy, yes. But then I got a very nice phone call yesterday from an involved party, a) asking me not to and b) giving me actual reasons not to as well. So… okay. Unless it runs in the New York Times or a similar publication like a certain Batwedding, I’ll save it for the day itself. But then it’s open Batseason…

    BATMAN OF TWO WORLDS #1

TWO ICONIC WORLDS. ONE HISTORIC EVENT.

Announced at San Diego Comic Con, Batman of Two Worlds #1 will debut globally on Batman Day, September 19, 2026, in participating markets around the world.

Batman of Two Worlds #1 features an all-new Batman story by writer Matt Fraction and artist Javi Fernández, with colors by Tomeu Morey and letters by Clayton Cowles, alongside an all-new Absolute Batman story by writer Scott Snyder and artist Nick Derington, with colors by Frank Martin and letters by Tom Napolitano.

“You have two different looks at Batman,” said Matt Fraction. “The moral structures, the ethical structures, the political structures. A chance to put them side by side and see the similarities and differences.” “This is just such a unique moment,” added Scott Snyder. “The mission was to show what’s special about each interpretation. They’re both about Batman’s form of justice.”

Available exclusively on Batman Day 2026, Batman of Two Worlds #1 will be on sale for $2.99 at participating local comic book shops worldwide. DC’s Batman of Two Worlds #1 cover is by Jorge Jiménez, Nick Dragotta, and Frank Martin. $2.99
