    • Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to one count of affray for a nightclub attack in London where he used a glass bottle as a weapon.
    • The incident, captured on CCTV, involved Brown hitting the victim twice over the head with a glass bottle, causing head and knee injuries.
    • Brown’s sentencing hearing is scheduled for October 26, following his arrest in May 2025 after being connected to the assault that took place two years prior.

Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to one count of affray a year after being charged for an incident in a London nightclub.

London’s Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) revealed on Friday, July 24 that the No Guidance singer had entered a new plea.

After Brown and his vocal coach, Omololu Akinlolu, attended a hearing at Southwark Crown Court, Claire Campbell, a Senior Crown Prosecutor in CPS London South, released a statement that read, “This was a vicious and unprovoked attack by Brown and Akinlolu in a crowded nightclub where Brown used a glass bottle as a weapon to strike the victim’s head twice.”

The prosecutor went on to say “this kind of violence is entirely unacceptable,” mentioning her team “will work tirelessly” with the intent to “prove that no one is above the law.”

Brown had been arrested in May 2025 after the Metropolitical Police Service in Manchester, England was able to confirm he was connected to the incident that took place at the Tape Nightclub in London two years prior.

During the encounter that was reportedly captured on CCTV, Brown approached the unnamed victim and hit him twice over the head with a glass bottle. Akinlolu allegedly jumped in afterwards and began punching the victim.

When the victim attempted to leave the club, the two continued to assault him, leaving head and knee injuries that required professional medical help.

Brown was initially charged with one county of grievous bodily harm. Nevertheless, he has only pled guilty to affray, which is categorized as a public order crime where two or more people engage in a public fight, causing fear toward others.

The singer’s sentencing hearing is set for October 26.

Although the victim’s name was not mentioned in the recent statement, music producer Abraham Diaw had previously filed a civil suit against Brown accusing him of smashing a tequila bottle over his head while at a London nightclub in October 2023.
