Charlamagne tha God is speaking out about some of the celebrity tributes in reaction to Dolly Parton‘s passing.
If you don’t know, the country icon passed away this week at the age of 80, and because of how beloved she was, so many celebrities posted photos with her and shared messagesfollowing the news.
Charlamagne tha God reacted when his co-host brought up celebrity tributes
On “The Breakfast Club,”Charlamagne tha God said, “I’m sick of people making people’s death about them. It’s all about the interaction you had with the person as opposed to celebrating the person and their life.”
His co-host Loren LoRosathen asked, “But what if it [online tributes] is to show the character of the person that people might not always know? Because I’ve never interacted with Dolly Parton.”
“I’ve never interacted with her either, but I’m very aware of all the charity work she did, especially in and around Nashville,” he said in response.
“There’s stars that have their niche followings but then there’s stars that transcend every race, every demographic, every age. Dolly Parton was one of those stars,” he continued.
Our continued thoughts are with Dolly Parton‘s loved ones. RIP. Here’s where you can donate to help a cause close to Dolly’s heart.
