Quick − Santa is coming to town soon, and we need your help before he does!
We’re looking for young artists who can draw us surprising, silly and spirited comics for our participation in this year’s Akron Children’s Holiday Tree Festival.
Our tree’s theme this year is “Newspaper Comics Through the Years.” We’ll be honoring fan favorites like Snoopy, Garfield, Calvin and Hobbes − and now, some of you!
On a piece of paper no larger than 5×7 inches, use drawings and speech bubbles to complete this prompt: “BREAKING NEWS: Something unbelievable happened one holiday morning…”
Write your name and age (18 and under, please) on the back of your submission. Then, send it to Theresa Bennett at 388 S. Main St., Suite 720, Akron, OH 44311.
We’ll pick our favorites and feature them on the tree, which will be auctioned off to benefit the hospital and on display to the public Nov. 14-22. We’ll also feature submissions on our website.
