    Megastar Amitabh Bachchan

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has spoken about facing online trolling because of his age, recalling how negative comments made him think twice before sharing his thoughts on social media.

The actor shared his experience on the latest episode of the quiz show ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ after contestant Vinamra asked him how he deals with criticism online. The contestant also said that people of his generation often find it difficult to handle negative comments on social media.

Replying to the question, Bigg B said he initially saw social media as a good platform to share his thoughts. However, reading the comments from users changed the way he approached it.

Recalling some of the remarks he came across, the veteran actor said, “Pehle humne socha ki yeh bahut accha yantra hai, ismein hum apne dil ki baat bol dete hain… Uske baad jab humne padhna shuru kiya ki iska comment kya hai, humne aise likhna band kar diya. ‘Apne aap ko kya samajhta hai re tu budhau… Aise kyun bol raha hai?’ Toh aise-aise shabdawali hoti hai, bada ajeeb lagta hai. Toh ab humne zyada likhna chhod diya hai..”

The actor went on to explain that such comments made him feel uncomfortable and led him to reduce the frequency of his posts.

However, Bachchan ended the conversation on a lighter note, leaving the contestant and the audience laughing. He pointed out that his followers continued to grow even after he started posting less on social media.

Sharing the irony of the situation, he said, “Aur bhaisahab ek baat batayein aapko? Jab se kam likhna kar diya hai, humara follower badhta chala ja raha hai…”

Bachchan has been active on the internet for several years and began writing his personal blog in 2008. Over the years, he has used social media and other online platforms to share his thoughts, experiences and updates from his life with his fans.

Meanwhile, ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ airs from Monday to Friday at 9 pm on Sony Entertainment Television.
