New York Comic Con is an event that always has some fun surprises. But fans of Ghostbusters got a real big one from legendary actor Bill Murray. The actor took a ride through the New York City streets in a new version of the Ecto-1 in full Peter Venkman outfit as part of a new promotion.
This comes closely after Bill Murray filmed a new promotional ad for a new Halloween-themed software update from electric vehicle company, Ri driving an updated version of the Ecto-1, named the Ecto-R1. He finds the fan-favorite ghost, Slimer, haunting a nearby house and catches him. The ad ends with him once again getting slime on his hand after shutting the hood of the car down
The ad is short, but it’s a fun way for Ghostbuster fans to see Bill back in the role he made iconic from the classic film. But the collaboration didn’t end there, as Bill Murray made an appearance with Ri
Along with greeting fans who were there, Bill went on a ride with the Ecto-R1 through the city streets, blasting the classic Ecto-1 horn as they passed by. Fans were surprised and overjoyed to see the actor in full costume as he drove through the city. Bill had fun joking with everyone and saying hello to those who were quick to notice.
The last time that Ghostbusters fans got to see Bill Murray as Peter Venkman in the movies was during the release of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. In that film, Peter Venkman and the rest of the original Ghostbusters crew reunite to save the city from a new threat. The film also became a way for fans to say goodbye to actor Harold Ramis as Egon Spengler, who appears as a ghost in the finale.
