The latest episode of Bigg Boss Telugu 10 introduced the familiar BB Hotel task, bringing an opportunity for contestants to showcase their creativity, humour, and strategic skills. However, despite an interesting setup, the episode largely revolved around negotiations and alliances rather than genuine entertainment.
BB Hotel: Red, Yellow and Green Zone Competition
According to the task, BB Hotel was once a prestigious establishment that had lost its reputation. Contestants were assigned the responsibility of restoring its former glory.
Red Zone contestants became hotel workers, Yellow Zone members played hotel owners, and Green Zone contestants entered as elite guests.
Workers had to earn money through wages and tips, while owners needed to impress guests and collect stars.
The highest-earning Red Zone contestant would advance to Yellow Zone, while the Yellow Zone contestant collecting the most stars would enter Green Zone.
Importantly, contestants remaining in Red Zone after the tasks would face both audience voting and the threat of sudden elimination.
Interesting Characters, Limited Entertainment
Debjani played a wealthy customer visiting the hotel with her fiancé Mukesh, a vlogger, to plan their wedding.
Thrigun entered as a charming don, accompanied by his assistant Aman, who was also searching for love. Neetu played a gossipmonger.
Among hotel workers, Rohit, Swetha, and Sudhir became waiters, RK and Jhansi were chefs, and Vamsi played a fitness trainer.
Naresh and Varshini actively participated as hotel owners.
Even before the task began, contestants started negotiating deals for money and stars. Varshini, who has struggled in physical tasks, appealed to Green Zone members for support, hoping to capitalise on a task better suited to her strengths.
Meanwhile, Mukesh briefly panicked after losing his allotted stars, only to discover that Thrigun had hidden them as a prank.
Wedding Drama and Gold Smuggling
Debjani and Mukesh arrived for wedding planning, with Varshini welcoming them.
Thrigun and Aman entered the hotel with a gold-smuggling storyline.
Mukesh, portraying a forgetful character, hilariously flirted with Varshini instead of his fiancée Debjani. An annoyed Debjani sought help from don Thrigun, creating some dramatic situations.
However, the promising characters failed to generate sustained entertainment. Much of the episode was consumed by contestants discussing deals rather than improvising humorous situations.
Meanwhile, chefs and workers began demanding payments for food and services. Sudhir, Neetu, and Rohit formed an alliance to share money and stars, adding another strategic dimension.
Communication Task: Varshini and Rohit Win
Bigg Boss introduced a challenge to test communication between hotel owners and workers.
Each team consisted of one owner and one worker, who had to complete a dumb-charades-style activity. Winners would receive money and stars.
In the opening round, Varshini and Rohit defeated Naresh and Jhansi. The BB Hotel task will continue in the next episode.
The BB Hotel concept offered plenty of scope for comedy, particularly with characters like a forgetful fiancé, a charming don, and a gossipmonger.
Unfortunately, the contestants appeared more interested in negotiating money and stars than entertaining viewers.
With zone promotions and sudden elimination at stake, strategic gameplay is understandable. However, Bigg Boss needs to strike a better balance between competition and entertainment.
