Best Buy has launched its Techtober sale, a direct competitor to Amazon’s latest Prime-exclusive sale, Prime Big Deal Days. Techtober is running until October 11 and includes plenty of deals and discounts on, you guessed it, Tech, video games, home appliances, and more.
There are some fairly standout offers up for grabs, so I’ll leave a few of my favorite picks just below. Otherwise, feel free to take a look and browse the full sale yourself.

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight

Battlefield 6

Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World Bundle

UGREEN Nexode 200W 25,000mAh Power Bank

Amazon – Kindle Paperwhite (32 GB)
Highlights for me, of course, are the decent variety of video games included in the new sale. Standouts include the critically acclaimed Star Wars: Zero Company for both PS5 and Xbox. It’s down to $47.99, $12 off its list price, and its first discount since launch.
There’s also LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Night, down to $59.99, and $10 off for both PS5 and Xbox. That’s alongside Battlefield 6, a gaming highlight from last year, down to just $34.99, which is a pretty excellent deal!
Obviously, Best Buy is also highlighting the Nintendo Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle in the sale, even if it isn’t technically a sale item. You can save $37.97 if you buy this bundle, versus buying the console and game separately. It’s certainly not as good as the bundle deal we saw for the Switch 2 at launch, but considering the price of those bad boys has gone up this year (along with everything else, am I right?), it’s still not a bad offering and worth calling out nonetheless.

$819.97 at Best Buy
Another interesting offer, albeit significantly more expensive than everything else I’ve mentioned, is the Gears of War E-Day Xbox Series X bundle that’s up for grabs. It’s listed for $819.97, and includes a 1TB Xbox Series X digital console (MSRP $749.99), a digital copy of Gears of War E-Day (MSRP $69.99), and a slick transparent red Xbox Elite Series 2 controller (MSRP $149.99).
Overall savings are $150, and while it’s not a baddeal, it’s still expensive and probably only going to appeal to a select few. At $820, this will be a tough ask for a lot of us, and while I’m cautious to give any kind of financial advice, Best Buy does offer the option to pay over 12 months at $68.34/mo as well, just so you are aware.
Overall, the bundle is worth considering if you are okay with digital-only gaming (especially with Xbox allowing you to digitise your game discs now), and are looking for a way to play GTA 6 and the critically acclaimed Gears of War E-Day.
Prime Day vs. Techtober Sale
All the big US retailers like to go toe-to-toe during massive sale seasons (like the one we are in now, which will continue all the way through to New Year’s Day 2027), and Best Buy is no different.
But what are the major differences between the two sales, and is it worth shopping one over the other?
Well, for starters, Best Buy’s sale isn’t locked behind a membership. While there are still some specific deals that are exclusive to Best Buy’s premium membership, the vast majority of deals are not.
Additionally, Best Buy’s sale is running until October 11, while Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days sale starts October 6 and runs through 11:59 PM on October 7. So, Best Buy’s sale is significantly longer and will give you a bit more opportunity to shop around or make a decision on your purchases.

Apple AirPods Pro 3 Wireless Noise Canceling Earbuds
When it comes to which sale to shop, I’d advise just going wherever has the best deals. For example, while Best Buy has some great offers, Amazon has a better deal on the Apple AirPods Pro 3. The premium earbuds are down to $179 at Amazon, but $199.99 at Best Buy.
Amazon will also often price match the vast majority of other retailers, without you even having to ask. So if you’ve got a Prime membership and want to shop there, go ahead. As long as you’re saving money and being savvy when hunting down bargains, you’re in the clear.
Should You Shop Best Buy’s Techtober Sale or Wait for Black Friday?
Honestly? Probably, yeah. While Amazon’s October Prime Day sale (Prime Big Deal Days) is a good opportunity to grab a few good deals, more often than not these offers will reappear in a month or less, as they were, or as even better deals. If you can hold out, I’ll always recommend waiting a little bit longer in order to save that bit more.
That being said, there is a rare chance that certain deals appear that areworth picking up ASAP. I, and the rest of my team, will often try to call these bargains out as and when we can, so you have the best opportunity to bag them. Otherwise, consider the rest of this article a helpful guide to what’s on sale, what you can pick up if you so choose to, and the prices to look for when the Black Friday sales eventually roll around in November.
The only other reason I’d ever suggest not waiting is if you value your time over your money. Now it seems like an obvious statement, but it’s not always a luxury we all get to have. If you do desperately want to play that game like right nowand it’s driving you insane, or your TV just broke, or you lost your headphones, sales like this are a great opportunity to pay yourself in time, so you don’t have to stress or fret about something. Whatever the case, do what is best for you. I’m just a silly little guy, writing about silly little deals, on a silly little website.
