Nepo babies are anywhere you look in the Los Angeles area, whether in Hollywood or on the beaches.
In the first trailer for Fox’s Baywatch reboot, Arrow star Stephen Amell is Hobie Buchannon, who is following in the lifeguard footsteps of his iconic life-saving father, Mitch (played by David Hasselhoff in the original series).
And right on cue, straight out of an episode of the Fox-turned-ABC series 9-1-1, an insane emergency goes down. Here, it’s a plane crashing into the water, and Hobie and his crew strut down that beach in slow motion, just like Pops taught him.
After that heroic rescue, Hobie’s long-lost daughter showing up on his doorstep. C’mon, another nepo-baby lifeguard?!
“I’m Charlie. From Texas. Biological daughter. Any of that ring a bell?” Charlie (Jessica Belkin) says. “Don’t worry, I’m not looking for money. Or a father. Just need a job.”
“Are you a lifeguard?” Hobie asks in awe.
Later in the trailer, Hobie expresses concern about his daughter following in his precarious footsteps. “I have been dreaming of having a relationship with my daughter, but I’m worried about her out there,” he says. “It’s too dangerous.”
Among the cast joining Amell for this new dip into the water are influencer Noah Beck, model Brooks Nader, Pretty Little Liars star Shay Mitchell, gymnast Oliheartthrob Cody Madison for four seasons

Here’s the official logline for Chokachi’s return to the beach: “Cody runs the Shoreline, the unofficially official Baywatch bar-and-grill, and still puts on the red trunks for the occasional shift saving lives. He’s a mentor to and a friend, providing a second home for his fellow lifeguards… and always offering free wings after a big save.”
The new Baywatch is set to premiere on Fox in January 2027.
