Nicaragua will face off with Baja California in the quarterfinals of the USA side of the 2026 Little League World Series.
Nicaragua, representing the Latin America region, will face Baja California, representing the Mexico region, in the quarterfinal round of the International Bracket of the Little League World Series at Volunteer Stadium in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. Nicaragua opened the Little League World Series four days ago, edging out a 2-1 shutout win over the Dominican Republic, from the Caribbean region. After finding a way in that first game, they matched up in the second round with Panama, the Panama region representative. Nicaragua won the game 6-4, scoring four runs in the final frame to win the game. Kendry Arauz Roque led the team with a pair of RBIs, as three of his teammates also contributed single RBIs.

Baja California didn’t have to play in the first round of the World Series, opening their tournament in the second round against Ryde Little League from Sydney, New South Wales, representing the Australia region. Baja California exploded out to a 7-1 win in that first game, looking to keep its dominance rolling into this matchup. Catcher Gareth Garcia had two RBIs on his lone hit, while Jorge Fonseca, Emiliano Kerber, and Iker Gonzalez all had single RBIs.
The winner of this game will head to the semifinals of the International bracket to take on the winner of the Curaçao vs South Korea game, playing on Sunday as well. The loser of this game will head to the elimination bracket to take on the winner of the elimination matchup between South Czech and Carribean/Japan, who took down Carribean/Japan on Saturday. As a double-elimination bracket, each team gets two chances to advance, prior to going home.
