ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) —Anime fans will have a chance to meet voice actors, shop for collectibles and take part in cosplay and other activities when Asheville Anime-Fest returns to western North Carolina on Saturday, Oct. 10.
The one-day convention is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Asheville – Biltmore West.
Organizers say this year’s event will feature three special guests: anime voice actresses Madeleine Morris and Molly Searcy and Jennifer Cihi.
Morris has voiced characters in anime including “Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation,” “Kaguya-sama: Love Is War,” “Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End and Witch Hat Atelier,” according to organizers.

Searcy is known for roles in “Akame ga Kill!,” “GATE,” “Amagi Brilliant Park” and “Girls und Panzer,” among other productions.
Cihi performed the English singing voice for Sailor Moon in the classic English adaptation and has also worked on music for “City Hunter” and “Princess Mononoke,” organizers said.
The event will also include a marketplace with anime merchandise, manga, figures, artwork, apparel, toys, gaming items and other collectibles. There will also be a lip sync battle at 2 p.m., followed by the popular cosplay contest at 4 p.m.
ASHEVILLE ANIME CONVENTION FANS GATHER FOR COSTUME CONTESTS, FUN
Organizers say the event is intended for anime fans of different ages and experience levels. General admission is $20. Children under 11 can attend for free with a paid adult, with one free child per paid adult. Additional children are $10 each. Free parking will be available at the venue.
The Holiday Inn Asheville – Biltmore West is located at 435 Smokey Park Highway in Asheville.
