Global Pulse Entertainment (GPE) will make its APEX EXPO debut in Singapore with a growing slate of independent films and television series for airline audiences. Founded in January 2026 by Julieta Bowyer, the company will introduce several new titles, including The End of It, Congo Boy, and Los Relatos (The Sentence). At <a href="https://www.futuretravelexperience.com/fteasia/” rel=”nofollow noopener” target=”_blank”>APEX FTE EXPO, GPE will show trailers from across its slate and speak with airlines about how independent content can give passengers more choice onboard.
Building a Global Content Slate
Global Pulse Entertainment may have launched earlier this year, but Bowyer brings more than 20 years of experience in inflight content acquisition and distribution. That experience shapes how GPE builds its slate and works with airlines.
“Global Pulse Entertainment may be new, but it is built on more than 20 years of experience,” Bowyer explained. She looks forward to introducing clients to independent films and television series they may not already know.
GPE focuses on content from around the world, including titles that have received attention at film festivals, won awards, or earned strong reviews. Bowyer looks for films and television series that can appeal to a wide range of passengers while still standing apart from major studio releases.

“Understanding the market and what the airlines are looking for is the main thing,” Bowyer said. “If I don’t love it, I don’t buy it.”
Independent films face strong competition for limited space in airline in-flight entertainment (IFE) libraries. They often have much smaller marketing budgets than major studio releases, which can make it harder for passengers to recognize them.
“Competition is fierce, space is limited and marketing budgets for independent and global content are much smaller than the budgets at the Studios, so it is imperative to acquire content that can resonate far and wide,” Bowyer explained.
Bowyer believes airlines have room to feature more independent films and television series. She thinks carriers can help those titles stand out by giving passengers more context about what makes them worth watching.
For GPE, different does not have to mean niche. “Distinctive doesn’t have to mean niche,” Bowyer noted. “The trick is to offer something different and interesting, but accessible.”
Giving Passengers More Choice Onboard
As inflight connectivity gives passengers easier access to their own streaming services, Bowyer believes airline IFE needs to offer programming they may not already find on their personal devices. Airlines serve travelers from around the world, giving carriers an opportunity to introduce audiences to films and television series from different markets.
“It is increasingly important for airlines to offer something different,” Bowyer explained. She pointed to both the growth of streaming and the increasingly diverse audiences airlines carry.
GPE has brought that approach into television. Bowyer has introduced European television series to airlines through the company’s slate, including the Swiss Italian thriller drama La Linea della Palma (The Palm Line) and Espias (Broken Spies), a Portuguese series about female espionage during World War II.

“I am particularly proud of having introduced European TV series to airlines
Bowyer believes the seatback screen gives airlines a chance to guide passengers toward programming they may not choose on their own. Carriers can use IFE to introduce travelers to films and television series beyond what they already watch through their own streaming subscriptions.
“The things an airline can achieve through their seatback screens are amazing,” Bowyer said. She hopes airlines continue investing in well-curated IFE rather than relying only on connectivity.
GPE gives airline programming teams information about awards, box office performance, festival appearances, and critical recognition for its titles. Bowyer believes those details can help airlines make programming decisions and give passengers more context when they browse the IFE system.
“That information can go a long way towards helping passenger decision-making,” Bowyer explained.
GPE hopes airlines bring some of those details into their graphical user interface (GUI). Bowyer believes that extra information can help increase usage by answering a simple question for passengers: “why should I watch this?”
Unveiling New Titles in Singapore
Global Pulse Entertainment will use its first APEX FTE EXPO to introduce several films Bowyer evaluated during and after the Cannes, Venice, Toronto, and San Sebastián film festivals. The titles below are just a few examples from the many new acquisitions GPE plans to unveil as the company continues building its slate.
One of those titles is The End of It, which screened in Cannes Première. The film stars Rebecca Hall, Beanie Feldstein, Gael García Bernal, and Noomi Rapace and marks the feature debut of writer and director María Martínez Bayona.
Bowyer described The End of It as “an incredibly original story” and called Martínez Bayona “a truly exciting new talent.” GPE holds worldwide inflight and maritime rights to the film.

GPE will introduce Congo Boy as part of its upcoming slate. The award-winning, semi-autobiographical African film from Rafiki Rafiala received recognition at Cannes, where Bowyer said it “delighted audiences and critics.”
Another new title, Los Relatos (The Sentence), stars Juan Diego Botto and Marta Etura. Bowyer described the Spanish film as a “very gripping” drama and thriller.
These titles represent only part of the larger slate GPE plans to introduce in Singapore. The new acquisitions join current GPE releases including Berlinale Golden Bear winner Sari Zarflar (Yellow Letters) and Cannes award winner L’Espèce Explosive (Too Many Beasts). Bowyer will show trailers from current and upcoming titles throughout the event.
“It’s so exciting to see the upcoming slate taking shape!” Bowyer said.
Visitors to GPE’s booth can watch trailers and speak with Bowyer about the company’s slate and their own programming needs. The show gives GPE a chance to introduce airlines to both its current releases and many more titles joining its lineup.
