AOC says unlike other 1000 Hz monitors, this one features native 1000 Hz operation at 1080p resolution.
AOC AGON PRO AGP257FT Reaches 1000 Hz Natively at 1080p Resolution on Oxide-Based Fast IPS Panel
This isn’t the first 1000 Hz gaming monitor, as we already have a couple of such models from multiple monitor makers. However, AOC markets it as a “Native” 1000 Hz monitor that can operate at a 1000 Hz refresh rate out of the box. If you remember, this was already rumored last year, and the specifications we published last year confirm that this is indeed the same 1000 Hz monitor.
We already have many monitor vendors launching their own 1000 Hz models, including Acer, LG, Samsung, and AntGamer. AOC’s latest monitor, AGON PRO AGP257FT, was first showcased in China nearly four months ago, where we got to know its specifications officially for the first time. The AGP257FT uses an oxide-based Fast IPS panel to overcome the voltage-response limits, which holds back LCD panels at extremely high refresh rates.
The AGP257FT is therefore able to hit 1000 Hz out of the box at full HD resolution, but can be further overclocked to 1050 Hz. However, going from 1000 Hz to 1050 Hz will be unnoticeable, given that it’s already difficult to differentiate between a 500 Hz and a 1000 Hz monitor. Nonetheless, 1000 Hz seems to have become the new norm for “enthusiast-grade” eSports gaming.
The AGP257FT will now compete against popular monitor vendors, and as per the provided specs, it appears to do so by also reducing the response time to just 0.3 ms GtG or 0.1 ms MPRT for superior clarity. The display will also boast Motion Blur Reduction Plus or MBR+ technology to reduce perceived blur during fast movements, while NVIDIA G-Sync compatibility will ensure tear-free gameplay.
AGON PRO AGP257FT will support DisplayHDR 400 and will have a decently wide color gamut, including color spaces like 99% sRGB and 90% DCI-P3. For connectivity, there will be dual HDMI 2.1 ports and a single DP 2.1 interface alongside a headphone output. Moreover, the I/O will provide a dedicated USB hub with three USB Type-A ports for peripheral connectivity.
While AOC didn’t announce the pricing details, it says the monitor will be available in Q1 2027. Considering we have most 1000 Hz monitors debuting at $1000, we don’t expect the AGON PRO AGP257FT to be cheap at all.
