Jarcorp today unveiled Amphibian, which will be appearing on Nintendo Switch. The game has its sights set on a 2028 launch on the console.
Amphibian is a somber, story-driven 2D RPG for fans of classic console adventures. It tells a tale of family, sacrifice, and generational violence in a world of anthropomorphic frogs and toads. Golden Sun, Fire Emblem, and Resident Evil are cited as inspirations.
Here’s a bit of additional information:
Starvation, dehydration, and a toad invasion throw The Pond and its residents into crisis. Sapo and his allies must liberate their home in a campaign delivering a twisting narrative with a carefully curated amount of side content.
Engage in classic, turn-based RPG battles in a world with light platforming, puzzles inspired by classic survival horror games, and no random encounters nor economy. Progress requires smart re or currency. Build up the party through a branching class system empowering a wide variety of playstyles
