Amanda Seyfried has decided to part ways with her honey, honey.
The Mamma Mia!star and her husband Thomas Sadoski shared that they have broken up after nine years of marriage.
“We have been separated for a while, and it’s proven to be the right move for us and our family unit,” the pair told People in a joint statement Sept. 15. “We’ve got each other forever—and it’s GOOD.”
Seyfried, 40, and Sadoski, 50—who share daughter Nina, 9, and son Thomas, 5—first sparked breakup rumors earlier this month, when the actress was spotted at the Toronto International Film Festival without her wedding ring.
However, it’s clear the couple remain on good terms, as Seyfried even posted a photo of Sadoski with a lizard on Sept. 15, calling him “#reptiledad” on her Instagram Story.
She also shared a cryptic quote that read, “There’s really not a difficult thing unless you decide it’s a difficult thing. Otherwise, it’s just the next thing you’re figuring out.”
The couple originally met in 2015 while costarring in the play The Way We Get Byin New York. They eloped two years later in 2017.
“We just took off into the country with an officiant and just the two of us, and we did our thing…We had a great day,” Sadoski shared on The Late Late Show at the time. “It was perfect.”
The Newsroom actor noted that Seyfried’s beloved dog Finn was present to witness his vows to the Mean Girls star.
“She’s the person I love, admire, respect most in the world,” he added. “It was beautiful. It was everything that it should be. It was just the two of us talking to each other.”
While a wedding had them feeling like dancing queens, it was the arrival of their first baby together that really had the couple lay all their love on each other.
“I’m ready to go,” a then-pregnant Seyfriend told E! News in 2017. “I’m ready to meet the kid!”
Sadoski added, “I’m terrified but I couldn’t be more excited. She gets the singing. I do the diaper changing.”
And since welcoming Nina and Thomas, the pair have made it a priority to protect their kids from the spotlight, even moving to a farmhouse in upstate New York.
“It’s way less Hollywood noise,” she told Net-a-Porter in February. “[My children] know that I’m a recognized person in the world, that I’m an actor and that me being on TV is very normal for them. And they also know that they’re safe at home and have their own privacy—and that’s everything.”
