The series is based on the novel series Jack Reacher by Lee Child. It focuses on a self-proclaimed drifter and retired army officer who battles dangerous criminals, using his formidable strength and abilities. Season 4 is based on the 13th novel, Gone Tomorrow. The season witnesses Reacher watching a woman take her own life on a subway train. This death draws him to a high-stakes conspiracy involving powerful figures that will turn Reacher’s life upside down. Besides Alan Ritchson as Jack Reacher, the fourth season will feature Christopher Marquette, Sydelle Noel, Agnez Mo, Anggun, and Kevin Corrigan in important roles.
Last year, Ritchson teased the upcoming installment to be the best season ever. “I was panicked coming out of Season 3 because it was so well executed for the audience’s experience,” he told Collider. He continued, “I felt like it was so in the wheelhouse for what Reacher is and what that experience should be for audiences that I called my showrunner, worried.”
The 43-year-old actor added, “I was like, ‘We’re never going to be able to top this.’ It was so perfect for what we do. Now, everybody’s going to be disappointed going forward.” However, the showrunner told Ritchson they just need to be different and “make it a new experience so people don’t know what to expect.” Ritchson continued, “And this is so different and so unexpected, and it is for sure the best season we’ve ever made, by a long shot. So I’m very excited for people to see this.”
