Indian gaming technology company ARC has announced a strategic collaboration with Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. to design and build a new lineup of high-performance gaming devices, including the ARC X1. The upcoming hardware portfolio is specifically targeted at gamers in India and other rapidly expanding emerging markets.
Under the initiative, ARC plans to integrate Qualcomm Technologies’ compute, graphics, artificial intelligence, and wireless connectivity solutions into its device roadmap.
The partnership aims to address growing consumer demand for dedicated gaming hardware that balances high visual fidelity and responsive gameplay with portability and thermal efficiency.
Targeting Emerging Market Dynamics
India has become one of the fastest-growing gaming markets globally. While mobile smartphones have historically driven user adoption in the region, player preferences are shifting toward more sophisticated, cross-platform, and graphically demanding titles.
ARC’s strategy focuses on building hardware tailored directly to regional usage patterns rather than repurposing systems built for mature Western markets. The company identifies a specific gap for dedicated, portable hardware capable of delivering consistent performance for users who frequently play on the move.
Core Capabilities and Architecture
The planned devices will leverage Qualcomm’s mobile computing architectures to deliver several key performance attributes:
- Graphics and Compute: Enhanced processing power optimized for modern game engines and multi-platform titles.
- Power Efficiency: Battery-conscious system architecture designed to maintain peak performance without excessive thermal throttling.
- Connectivity: Low-latency networking hardware to support cloud gaming and competitive online multiplayer sessions.
- Form Factor Optimization: Lightweight designs focused on ergonomic handling and daily portability.
ARC stated that further technical specifications, platform details, and launch timelines for the hardware lineup will be disclosed in the coming months.
Commenting on the announcement, Jobin Joseph, Co-Founder, ARC, said:
We believe the future of gaming hardware lies in efficient performance, not just raw power. For markets like India, performance-per-watt is key to delivering portability, battery life, and accessibility. Qualcomm Technologies’ leadership in power-efficient computing makes them the ideal technology partner for ARC. Together, we’re building a new generation of gaming hardware that brings immersive gaming experiences to more players across India and emerging markets.
Saurabh Arora, Director, Business Development, Qualcomm Support India Private Limited, said:
The gaming industry is evolving rapidly, with users seeking immersive, console-quality experiences in portable form factors. At Qualcomm Technologies, our leadership in high-performance, power-efficient computing, advanced graphics, AI, and connectivity enables device makers to deliver exceptional gaming experiences without compromising battery life or mobility. ARC’s vision for dedicated gaming devices aligns well with our efforts to power the next generation of intelligent, high-performance consumer’ devices, creating new opportunities for gamers in India and other emerging markets.
