Subhash Ghai has opened up about his ugly spat with Salman Khan before the release of Yuvvraaj. In a recent interview, the filmmaker recalled how a heated argument at a party turned physical after Salman, who was reportedly under the influence of alcohol, allegedly abused him. Ghai also revealed how Salim Khan intervened to resolve the feud.

In an interview with Times Now, Subhash Ghai recalled his ugly spat with Salman Khan before Yuvvraaj. He stated, “For Yuvvraaj, Salman Khan’s brother approached me and said, ‘Why don’t you make a film with Salman?’ I said, ‘Is Salman keen? Because I have never worked with him.’ He said, ‘He is keen.’ After this, I wrote a story. My challenge is that I must cast an actor in a role he has never done before.”

He added, “Before the film, we had a fight. Hatha paai hui (we had a scuffle). Then his father scolded him. We were at a party. Salman was high. He was saying something wrong when I told him, ‘Don’t say that.’ He had some issue with me. He asked me, ‘Why did you do this or that?’ I said it is my decision as a director. He started abusing [me], I asked him not to do that. We had a spat there.”

He further shared that the two ended the feud only after Salim Khan intervened and made Salman apologise.

    About Yuvvraaj

Despite starring Salman Khan alongside Anil Kapoor and Katrina Kaif, Yuvvraaj failed to make an impact at the box office. The film revolves around three estranged brothers, Deven, Gyanesh, and Danny, who come together after their wealthy father dies. Their relationship is complicated.

Almost 27 years after Taal (1999) became a smash hit at the box office, the filmmaker revealed to mid-day that he is crafting its sequel. Starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Akshaye Khanna, and Anil Kapoor, the popular musical told the story of a talented village singer who rises to stardom after being heartbroken.

Apart from this, he also revealed Khal Nayak sequel is being planned, with a top production house having acquired the exclusive derivative rights. Sharing the look, Sanjay Dutt wrote, “Kuch kahaani khatam nahi hoti… woh dobara shuru hoti hai. Khalnayak Returns.” The 1:12-minute video shows a dark, fiery backdrop, with Sanjay returning as Ballu, Bollywood’s most iconic screen villain.
