The story takes place in America in 1890 and follows Johnny Joestar, a former genius jockey who is paralyzed from the waist down, as he joins the mysterious outlaw Gyro Zeppeli in a massive cross-country horse race. The September release begins the anime’s 2nd STAGE, with Netflix confirming that a new episode will arrive every Friday. The 2nd and 3rd STAGES will contain 11 episodes in total, giving viewers plenty of time to settle into the race and meet more of its colorful competitors.
The adaptation is directed by Yasuhiro Kimura and Hideya Takahashi, with animation production handled by David Production, the studio behind the previous JoJo anime adaptations. With Johnny and Gyro heading deeper into the race, September 25 marks the beginning of another major chapter for JoJo fans.
1Mononoke The Movie: Chapter III – September 29, 2026
Mononoke The Movie: Chapter III – The Curse of the Serpent arrives on Netflix on September 29, 2026, bringing the Mononoke movie trilogy to its conclusion. The film returns to the lavish Ōoku setting established by the first two movies, with the Medicine Seller once again confronting a supernatural threat. This time, the story focuses on the Midaidokoro, the highest-ranking woman in the Ōoku, while a mysterious Snake God threatens the Inner Chambers.
The trilogy has gradually shifted its focus upward through the women of the Ōoku.
