A report claims that Inde Navarrette will play Rogue in Avengers: Secret Wars, and fans are excited about the adaptation of one of Rogue’s most important comic book stories.

Industry journalist Jeff Sneider claimed on his podcast, The Hot Mic, that Navarrette will appear in Secret Wars. However, he did not say how big the actress’s role will be, and it could be an essential part or just a cameo.

Marvel Studios has yet to confirm the casting and reveal any actors in the film. The studio is believed to keep actor information secret to avoid spoiling their survival in Avengers: Doomsday, set for December 18, 2026.

Inde Navarrette was announced to play the character of Rogue on August 15 at Disney’s D23 during Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige’s panel unveiling the cast of the studio’s new X-Men reboot. Apart from Navarrette, Sadie Sink will star as Jean Grey, Kit Connor will play Cyclops, Christopher Abbott will star as Professor Charles Xavier, Samara Weaving will be Emma Frost, Maya Boyd will be Storm, and Adam Driver will play Nathaniel Milbury, better known as Mister Sinister. Jake Schreier will direct the film, and it will open on May 5, 2028.

Rogue is known for her ability to absorb the abilities, memories, and life force of a person through touch.

Her power has defined the character since her introduction in the comics and has driven Rogue’s popularity among fans for over 40 years.

In online discussions, fans say that if the character appears in Avengers: Secret Wars, she can take Carol Danvers’ powers and become as strong as Captain Marvel.

The theory fits well into the original stories. Chris Claremont and Michael Golden created Rogue and introduced her as a villain in 1981 Avengers Annual No. 10. There, she absorbed Danvers’ powers and psyche, which weakened Danvers for years and made Rogue an incredibly powerful mutant. In 1983, Rogue joined the team. In the 1990s Marvel animated series, Rogue’s origin appears in the “A Rogue’s Tale” episode.

Fans also use social media rumors to support their point of view. They say Navarrette has recently started following Brie Larson on Instagram. The information hasn’t been independently verified, and no announcement has confirmed that Larson appears in the movie.

Anthony and Joe Russo will direct Avengers: Secret Wars, based on a script by Stephen McFeely. The release date was changed to December 17, 2027, and it will be the final part of Marvel’s Multiverse Saga.

Inde Navarrette previously starred as Sarah Cortez in The CW’s Superman & Lois and played Estela de la Cruz in Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why. She gained popularity this year thanks to the horror movie Obsession.

Clayface has always been a favorite of mine when it comes to the Batman’s rogues gallery.
