Brenda Song has already established herself as much more than a celebrity who happens to support Los Angeles sports. Now, the longtime Lakers fanatic will get a chance to put her sports knowledge to work on television.
Los Angeles Rams reporter Stu Jackson shared on Aug. 21 that Song will make her color analyst debut during the Rams’ game against the New Orleans Saints. She will join Jourdan Rodrigue, Rob Havenstein and J.B. Long in the CBS Los Angeles booth for the third quarter.
The assignment comes shortly after Song provided plenty of evidence that she knows her stuff, particularly when it comes to Lakers history.

Brenda Song’s Lakers Fandom Runs Deep
During an appearance on Mythical Kitchen, Song told Josh Scherer that Kobe Bryant inspired her to watch all 82 Lakers games and own a life-size cutout of the franchise icon.
Song really flexed her knowledge when Scherer mentioned Vlade Divac. She quickly noted that Los Angeles dealt Divac in the 1996 trade that landed Bryant. Scherer responded by calling her a “sicko.”
“Oh, I’m psychotic. Oh, psychotic,” Song replied.
That passion once sent Song to the hospital. She recalled hyperventilating after the Lakers defeated the Sacramento Kings in Game 7 of the 2002 Western Conference Finals, forcing her Kings-supporting family to seek medical attention for her.
Bryant remained central to her fandom through his final NBA game in 2016. Song commemorated his 60-point farewell by sharing her 2009 Lakers championship ring on Instagram and calling the moment “the end of an era.”
Song will trade basketball memories for football analysis during Rams-Saints, but anyone questioning her credentials as a Los Angeles sports diehard has plenty of evidence to reconsider.
