A key visual has been revealed for Netflix’s upcomingTHE ONE PIECEanime remake series, featuring several of the show’s main characters such as Luffy, Nami, Shanks, and more. The remake will beginstreaming all seven episodesof the series on Netflix in February 2027.
THE ONE PIECEwill adapt the manga’s first 50 chapters across roughly 300 minutes. The remake anime was first announced in December 2023.
Masashi Koizuka(Attack on TitanSeason 2 and 3) is directing the anime series, withTaku Kishimoto(Ranking of Kings) as series composer,Kyoji Asano(Attack on Titan) andTakatoshi Honda(In/Spectre) as character designers and chief animation directors, andHideaki Abe(Jujutsu KaisenEpisode 15 storyboard artist and director, Episode 4 director) as assistant director.
Other staff includeYasuhiro Kajino(In/Spectreprop designer) as creature designer and image board artist,Ken ImaizumiandShuhei Fukudaas action animators,Tomonori Kuroda(The Makanai: Cooking for the Maiko House) as background art director,Yuki Hayashi(My Hero Academia) as music composer, andRyoma Kawamura(Fate/Grand Order“Seihai Sensen ~ Shiroten no Shiro Kokuya no Shiro~” TV CM assistant producer) as animation producer.WIT Studiois in charge of the animation production.
The original manga series byEiichiro Odabegan serialization in Shueisha’s Weekly Shonen Jump on July 22, 1997 and has released 115 tankobon volumes in Japan as of July 2026.
The manga inspired aProduction I.G-produced OVA that was released in 1998. The long-running TV anime series fromToei Animationfollowed in October 1999, which recently switched to a 26-episode annual release containing two cours. It entered the “Elbaph Arc” in April 2026.
The manga also inspired several anime films, as well as theOne Piece Fan Letterspecial,One Piece Heroines, and alive-action series adaptationfrom Netflix.
