The adult entertainer recalled an open letter being signed to “protect the sanctity” of the Marvel franchise.

A hypothetical Black Panther adult film parody was shut down by performers before it could get off the ground, but at least one actress was a tiny bit disappointed.

On the August 13 episode of podcast2 Goons, adult film performer Kira Noir said that around the time of Black Panther’s release, Black male performers in the industry signed an open letter pledging they would never participate in a parody of the film.

As Noir recalled around the 4-minute mark of the interview below, the men sought to “protect the sanctity” of the Ryan Coogler-directed film.

“They just didn’t want to disrespect it. They didn’t want to make fun of Black Panther by doing a parody,” she continued.

While Noir said that she understands the reasoning behind the letter, she copped to a bit of frustration. She explained that it has been “difficult” for her to find roles in other parodies “because I’m Black and I have hair like this,” as she gestured to her long braids.

“And I was like, ‘I totally feel you,’ but also [fuck],” she continued, referring to a Black Pantherparody. “I would have been able to do that.”

Black Panther grossed roughly $1.35 billion globally and won three Academy Awards across seven nominations, along with being the first superhero movie nominated for an Oscar. Its 2022 sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, earned approximately $859 million. The film served in part as a tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman, who played protagonist King T’Challa. The actor died from colon cancer at 43 years old in August 2020.

A third installment, with British actor David Jonsson cast as Prince T’Challa II, son of King T’Challa, was announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 and is scheduled to open December 15, 2028. As Marvel president Kevin Feige recalled in an interview with Empire, Coogler and Jonsson met while the filmmaker was working on 2025 vampire thriller Sinners.

“He had a secret meeting with him under cloak of darkness in a hotel somewhere, and called me afterwards and said, ‘He’s the guy, he’s the guy, I felt it. I felt it in my soul. He’s a good man, and he is the next Black Panther,’” Feige recalled Coogler telling him. “And I got chills, and I got a little welled-up and said, ‘Let’s do it’. So we’ve been sitting on this secret for a good five or six months.”
