CINCINNATI (WKRC) – A wrongful death lawsuit filed by the parents of 13-year-old Audree Heine of Northern Kentucky is facing a challenge from Roblox, which argues the child waived her legal rights by agreeing to the platform’s terms.
Audree Heine’s parents sued the company after their child died by suicide in December 2024. In the lawsuit, her mother said Audree died because of harmful and violent influences from the game, as well as from Discord and TikTok, which she used to communicate with users.

The lawsuit also alleges Audree’s journal was later found and introduced her to a violent subculture on the platforms.
In federal court filings, Roblox and Discord argue the child waived her right to sue by accepting the platforms’ terms of agreement multiple times, including some instances that happened as early as when she was 8 years old. The companies say the lawsuit should be dismissed.
