You’ve watched them kick bad-guy butt on the big screen, now you can read about them on the little one: Marvel, comiXology, and Amazon inked a deal to bring single-issue digital comic books to Kindle readers.

Whether you’re a seasoned comic book expert or lost in the Marvel Universe labyrinth, you can now access more than 12,000 single issue digital stories on the Kindle Store on the day they’re released—no need to download a separate app.

Amazon acquired the digital comic book seller in April 2014. “[We] collectively saw a great opportunity to expand our relationship and create more ways for fans to access Marvel’s vast library of characters as well as leverage comiXology’s technology, together with Amazon’s incredible consumer focus and reach,” Peter Phillips, executive vice president of Marvel’s interactive and digital distribution, said in a statement.

“With the ever-increasing number of devices in consumers’ hands and the growing popularity of Marvel’s extensive catalogue of familiar super heroes we see this as the perfect time to create a whole new generation of comic book readers,” said David Naggar, vice president of Amazon Kindle.

Marvel’s single issue, trades, and graphic novels are also available as well as comiXology.com on the Web. Marvel Unlimited, meanwhile, provides unlimited access to the company’s catalog for $9.99 per month, but only content that is six months or older

No, Graphic Novels Are Not ‘Garbage’

Kindle fans, meanwhile, have a new device on which they can read Marvel’s content. Amazon this week released an updated Paperwhite with some nice upgrades, but no price hike.
