Reacher Season 4, Episode 4, plot explained
The cliffhanger of Episode 3 literally changed the entire game for Reacher Season 4. In the final moments, Congressman Sampson’s (Marc Blucas) chief of staff, Nolan Cahill (Chris Owens), threw himself off a building, connected to the secrets on the missing thumb drive, which Anna Merrick (Karen Kwong-Chip) supposedly had in her possession when she shot herself in the first episode.
The suicide of Cahill is a change from theermath of it, will be a huge part of what happens going into Episode 4
Because Reacher Season 4 takes place in the present day, rather than 2009, when the book was published, some of the geopolitical aspects of Sampson’s time as a special forces soldier are bound to be different. The detail about Cahill, his former military ally, killing himself, is clearly meant to deepen that mystery.
But what does it mean? Without spoiling Episode 4, we advise watching out for a few plot details:
-
What is Sampson’s explanation for his secretive military past?
-
When did Anna Merrick decide to board the subway?
-
Who knows what is on the thumb drive?
To be clear, Reacher Season 4, Episode 4 won’t answer all of these questions, but certain details are made a lot clearer after this episode.
But, big spoiler warning: Those who haven’t read the book should tread carefully at this point in the season. Don’t Google around too much about Lila Hoth, or the nature of her connection to Sampson, because if certain book details match up with Reacher Season 4, we’re in for a very big twist and a shocking revelation very soon.
Reacher Season 4 might be a series of seemingly endless fights, but the mystery is what’s making the whole plot shoot forward.
