The X-Men have been creeping closer to making their official introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and now it’s official. At Friday night’s Disney D23 event, President of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige — with the help of Sadie Sink — <a href="https://comicvibe.com/disneys-d23-all-the-movies-tv-series-and-more-announced-so-far/” title=”Disney's D23: All the movies, TV series and more announced so far”>announced the new cast for the upcoming X-Men movie.
Sink, who plays Jean Grey in the new Spider-Man: Brand New Day, was one of the first true X-Men character introduced (versions of Wolverine, Elektra, Blade, Gambit and X-23 were part of Deadpool & Wolverine). Previously confirmed castings of Samara Weaving as Emma Frost and Kit Connors as Cyclops were announced first. Christopher Abbott got the nod as the leader of the X-Men, Charles Xavier, and Broadway star Maya Boyd was announced as Storm. On the villain side, Adam Driver made a video appearance to confirm his role as Mr. Sinister.
The big surprise, however, was the announcement that Obsession breakout star Inde Navarrette would be taking on the role of Rogue. Navarrette had been the subject of rumors around the role of Mystique, with Cailee Spaeny being linked to Rogue instead.
When is the new MCU X-Men movie premiere date?
The X-Men MCU movie is expected in theaters May 5, 2028.
