Ark: Survival Evolved is shutting down on Nintendo Switch – at least when it comes to support for official servers on the console.
The announcement was made this week. It mentions that the official servers are going offline for Nintendo Switch on August 31, 2026, so there are only a couple of weeks until that happens.
The good news is that single-player will be unaffected, and unofficial servers will be accessible as well.
The full announcement is as follows:
It is with wistful hearts that today we are announcing the Official Servers for ‘ARK: Survival Evolved and ARK: Ultimate Survivor Edition’ on Nintendo Switch will sunset on August 31st, 2026. Over a million players have explored these servers since the original ARK Switch release in 2018 and the launch of Grove Street Games’ rebuilt Switch remaster in 2022. We want to thank everyone who has been a part of this journey.
Please note that Unofficial Servers and Single Player modes will continue to remain fully playable after this date.
Note that ownership of the game will not be impacted. There are no plans to delist it from the Nintendo eShop and those who made a purchase previously will still be able to access everything outside of the official servers as normal.
