Doctor Doom said it best: “Something is coming. Something we may not be able to deter.” Fortunately for us, that something isn’t an apocalyptic-level event known as an incursion or a supervillain who mysteriously stole the face of Earth’s mightiest protector. Instead, it is a look at one of the most ambitious superhero crossovers to date.
After the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, all eyes have officially shifted to the next Marvel Cinematic Universe movie on the slate: Avengers: Doomsday. Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are set to assemble once more after a seven-year hiatus, except this time they won’t be on their own.
The Fantastic Four, the Thunderbolts, and the X-Men will also rise against Doctor Doom and his mysterious coven of witches. Fans are eager to watch these iconic characters come together for the first time in cinematic history, and fortunately for us, we may not have to wait long to get a glimpse behind the curtain.
A new Avengers: Doomsday trailer is expected to be released at D23
Multiple insiders, like Daniel Richtman, have reported that a new Avengers: Doomsday trailer will be released as part of Disney’s D23 presentation on Friday, Aug. 14, 2026. It has also been rumored that tickets for the upcoming MCU project will go on sale that very date. Marvel and Sony implemented this strategy with Spider-Man: Brand New Day, as new footage for the wall-crawler’s latest adventure was dropped to coincide with the release of tickets. So, it stands to reason a similar scenario is in store yet again.
Marvel is set to take over the stage during the Disney Entertainment Showcase on August 14 at 7:00 pm PT. This presentation will feature “exclusive first looks at upcoming films and series, exciting new announcements, and unforgettable musical performances.” However, it’s important to note that the panel may not kick things off with Marvel reveals, and the Avengers: Doomsday trailer could be saved for the halfway point of the event or even the very end. With that in mind, here’s when the main D23 presentation is set to start in different time zones:

What to expect from the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday trailer
During San Diego Comic-Con 2026, Marvel surprised attendees during its Hall H panel with a new Avengers: Doomsday trailer. Unfortunately, this footage never made its way online and has since remained exclusive to those who were present at the event. Fortunately, that could be about to change soon.
It has been reported that the Avengers: Doomsday trailer set to be released at D23 will be the same as the one showcased at SDCC. If so, we already have an idea of what to expect thanks to detailed descriptions of the footage, and the spotlight will be completely on Doctor Doom himself. The trailer will open things up with a narration by Sue Storm, who tells us the ruler of Latveria wasn’t always a villain:
“Victor was always the smartest guy in every room. He used to be different. He used to be kind; he used to be caring. But then everything he loved was taken from him. I knew he was lost, but I did not realize that he was broken.”
We’ll see the new Marvel villain on his throne, as well as multiple shots of the many heroes set to appear in the upcoming crossover. Perhaps the most exciting part comes at the end, where Doom uses his powers to raise an army of Sentinels from the ground. If this sounds familiar, it is because an extended cut of this part of the footage leaked not too long ago and featured Mr. Fantastic, Thor, Steve Rogers, Shang-Chi, the X-Men, and more fighting the Sentinels.
Given that this is Marvel Studios’ biggest film of the year, it would be a shocker if no new promotional material was released at D23. However, it is always important to keep in mind that there’s a possibility the trailer won’t be available for everyone to see (yet again). But with a bit of luck, we’ll see more of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes soon.
Avengers: Doomsday will be released on Dec. 18, 2026.
